Just got word of an exciting new lecture series at Gumbo Limbo, for our south county members. The first talk of 2009 is by Steve Bass, former manager of the nature center at Gumbo Limbo; it will be on Florida’s freshwater wetland plants. This one is on January 13; subsequent talks appear to be every two weeks. The list of speakers is good: after Steve, there’s Hal Wanless of the University of Miami, then Marguerite Koch of FAU, Alana Edwards from NABA, and more!
All of the talks in the series begin at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Reservations are recommended, but not required. Call 561-338-1473 for info.
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is located at 1801 N. Ocean Blvd. in Boca Raton.
For more information about the lecture series, including bios of the speakers, see Gumbo Limbo’s Eco-Watch page.
