The FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center is hosting an event that everyone here is sure to love: an extreme backyard makeover! Saturday, May 30, from 12-3, there will be all kinds of fun stuff going on. Here is what their publicity has to say:

Saturday, May 30th
9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Make your yard the envy of all your neighbors!
- Learn how to save water, time, energy and money!
- Create places friendly to birds and butterflies!
- Design your own landscape plan!
- One lucky participant will walk away with a $100 gift certificate to a local native plant nursery!
Then stay for the afternoon!

Stroll through our brand new native landscapes and…
- Purchase native plants that will attract birds and butterflies to your yard
- Walk with an expert and learn how to identify birds and butterflies that visit your backyard
- Learn how your family can save water and reduce waste with rain barrels and compost bins
- Snack on organic foods
- Create bird feeders
- Discover other ways to make your yard more sustainable
*** You do not have to attend the actual workshop to come for the 12-3 portion; 12-3 is a free family event for all, come learn about creating a sustainable eco-friendly backyard
