Good weather and an outstanding program brought 2,950 visitors to the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge for the 15th Everglades Day. The theme, Everglades-Then and Now, featured People of the Lake Panels and presentations by Clewiston Museum and Belle Glade speakers. Archaeological digs have discovered many interesting facts about the prehistory era early people living around Lake Okeechobee. The Seminole Tribe sent a speaker to share stories of the Seminole culture. The status of Everglades Restoration, various animal presentations and informative exhibits kept everyone involved in learning more about the Everglades.
Thank you to the many ASE members who volunteered to make the day a success!
