Our journey will commence at 314 East Ocean Ave, Lantana, FL 33462—an ideal launch point for our exciting pelagic expedition.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to witness a variety of species in their natural habitat. From majestic seabirds soaring above the waves to playful dolphins and perhaps even the occasional whale sighting, this tour promises to be a memorable experience.

Our expert guide will offer fascinating insights into the local ecosystem and the various bird species, sharing their knowledge and answering any questions you may have.

Meet our Pelagic tour leader:

Larry Manfredi – Many birders might remember his name for the Western Spindalis that showed up in his yard between January 3rd and February 26, 1992. More than 400 people came to see that amazing vagrant. Realizing the number of people that share his interest, He decided to start guiding professionally. He contributed to the book titled “A Birder’s Guide To Florida” by Bill Pranty. He wrote the chapter on Homestead and helped with the sections on Miami, the Florida Keys, and Everglades National Park. He co-authored “A Birder’s Guide To Metropolitan Areas of North America” by Paul Lehman and sold by American Birding Association.

Event Details

Cost Includes: Your ticket covers the boat trip, gratuity for the crew, pelagic leaders, snacks, water, and an incredible experience. For those familiar with pelagic trip costs, this offers exceptional value!

Departure Details: We’ll set sail from Bar Jack Fishing Charter on the Lady K, a 70-foot walk-around deep sea fishing vessel. The Lady K, captained by a licensed USCG Captain, features a wide beam for a smooth ride even in moderately choppy waters.

Parking Information: The marina has limited parking next to the Old Key Lime House. Please double or triple park but avoid reserved spots. Paid parking is available in the lot to the east.

Schedule: Boarding begins at 7:45 AM. The boat departs promptly at 8:00 AM and returns around 4:00 PM. Please be punctual as the boat will not wait, and missed departures are non-refundable.

Facilities: Bathrooms are available in the park across the street, and the boat has two heads on board.

Check-In/Boarding: Check in with Paula Gatrell upon arrival. No need to print your ticket. Field guides will be introduced, and the Captain will provide a safety briefing. Tickets will be issued for head count.

Refund Policy: All sales are final. Refunds will only be issued if the trip is canceled by the charter-boat operators due to weather or sea conditions.

Age Restriction: No children under the age of seven.

What to Bring:

• Clothing: It can be breezy and chilly on the water. Dress in layers that you can adjust as needed, and be prepared for wet conditions.
• Footwear: Wear closed-toe shoes with good rubber soles to prevent slipping on the wet deck.
• Sun Protection: Bring sunscreen or a large hat for sun protection.
• Seasickness: If you’re prone to seasickness, take appropriate precautions as we will venture 10 miles out to sea.
• Food and Drink: Snacks and drinks will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
