We have all heard from many people and scientific sources regarding the COVID-19 virus pandemic and the precautions recommended. Many of our members and participants are either in the over age 60 population or deal regularly with people in that population. There is no way we can know who might have traveled to areas of high infection or been in contact with those who have. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution and to protect ourselves, our members, our guests and families, Audubon Everglades has decided to SUSPEND ALL SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES for the next 30 days Friday March 13 through April 12. The suspension includes all field trips, monthly programs, photography club meetings/events, tabling at events, and conservation stewardship programs. The Annual Meeting scheduled for April 7th will be rescheduled for a future date.
We will revisit the situation on March 31 and make a decision about activities scheduled beyond April 12. Please watch your email for updates and check the Audubon Everglades website for the latest information.
The Kite and other email communication will continue as scheduled.
We know that this decision may impact activities of great interest to you. We are sorry and we will do our best to reschedule activities when possible.
Thank you for your understanding and support. Please take all the appropriate steps you can to protect your own health.
Susan McKemy
President
